Dawne's first interest in barbershop began in childhood when, growing up within earshot of the New Jersey Turnpike, she realized the hum of 18-wheelers zooming up and down the coast produced a perfect D-minor-7th chord. She would hear that chord as she learned flute or French horn, played classical organ or bells in the church handbell choir, or sang in the high school chorus (subsequent surgery fianally lowered that to a B-flat-Major-7).       After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Susquehanna University in central Pennsylvania (all of the schools with shorter names were full), she moved to Harrisburg and joined the Greater Harrisburg Chorus, Sweet Adelines International. After several years on the front row and serving on the board of directors, Dawne wanted to put her 'can-do' attitude to good use.       When her husband or pets refused to respond to her directing attempts, she set her sights on a group of unsuspecting barbershoppers in York, Pennsylvania. She now has every woman's dream job- 20 men pay her to tell them what to do!       Dawne has been directing since 2003, and some of the members are still trying to figure out what hit 'em!!
